About: Omagh Primary Care Complex / Speech and Language Therapy

(as a parent/guardian),

 I wasn't to be seen for weeks or months.  I received  a phone call this week after being told someone would phone me to give me advice and strategies for my son while waiting. While one the phone I explained my son's situation and the lady then said I can take you on Wednesday which was two days later.

I was so relieved and went to my appointment, where the nurse,  Justina, at Omagh hospital was very welcoming and was absolutely brilliant with my son. She done a couple of games and bits with my son to see where we were at and gave me some information and activities for my son to do. She reassured me in every way that that I was doing a  great job with my son to help his speech myself. This made me feel a lot better coming for the professional on what areas we need to work on, and to come back in 8 weeks to see if he has made progress.

Very grateful for my appointment today.

Many thanks for taking the time to complete a Care Opinion story on your experience of Speech & Language Therapy.

My name is Mary Coulter and I am Team Lead for Speech & Language Therapy services for children in Western Trust.

I am pleased that your son was able to be seen in a timely way and that the support given by the therapist was useful. The therapist had a last minute cancellation that week so thank you for attending at such short notice.

We really value the great work that parents do to support their children's speech, language and communication development, and look forward to working with you and your son.

Many thanks I hope they're happy with it. Look forward to working with my son on these fun activities and hope he comes on over the summer with his speech and other areas we need to work on to bring him along.
