"Incredible care in ED"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Accident and emergency South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as the patient),

I attended the ED in July at approx 1:30pm, after falling ill whilst at a festival. (It was an 80s festival, so attending dressed like Madonna is not my usual mode of dress)

I arrived in an ambulance by lovely paramedics and was taken straight into resus, where everyone was waiting for me, as I had a fast heart rate which would not come down.

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to all the team that looked after me, they were incredible, I work in an emergency department as part of the admin team, so am fully aware of how hard they all work, but to experience it as a patient just made me realise exactly how hard working and dedicated they are, Thank you all so much, I am so grateful, and so is my husband for answering all his questions, and explaining what was happening, you are all incredible.

Good afternoon

Apologies for the delay in responding to your story but thank you so much for providing us with feedback on the service you received, it is much appreciated! We are so glad to hear that you were well looked after, though I am sorry that you had to experience this at all.

For confidentiality, your patient information is redacted on this platform and so we cannot find the details of your incident, we would love to pass your message onto the Ambulance crew who attended you and so, if you would be willing to share some additional information, please could you email compliments@swast.nhs.uk with your name, date the ambulance arrived, address and thank you message, we will then ensure this is passed onto to the relevant crew.

Thank you again for taking the time to feedback and we hope you are recovering well!

Kindest regards,

Sami
Patient Engagement Team
