"Really good help and advice"

About: Adult Community District Nursing Teams / Arches District Nursing Team Arches Wellbeing and Treatment Centre Royal Victoria Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

Had a very enlarged prostate problem for a few years was given medication to help.

Problem got worse after I had a stroke & it was discovered I had a faulty heart valve that needed to be replaced because of an infection.

I had a catheter inserted in the hospital & was released from hospital after 8 weeks with a long  term catheter. I was released with no advice on how to deal with catheter, it was a very difficult time.

Catheter leaked & I was put in touch with the continence team at Holywood Arches Belfast what a difference this made to my life.

Mary called at my home & put a valve on my catheter & it made a real difference to my life . Mary was so helpful & professional she had to call to my home many times to change the catheter because it was lock down.

After lockdown eased a bit I attended Holywood Arches to get my catheter changed. Again all the staff I saw were very pleasant & professional.

Eventually I was sent to Dublin to have TURP operation. I have been seen at the continence Clinic Holywood Arches & given some really good help & advice.

I will be eternally grateful to the staff at this continence clinic for all the help & support they gave me over this very difficult time in my life.
