Attended A&E at the QEUH recently. Within 40 minutes I saw a triage nurse who immediately called a doctor. I had blisters on my hands which were joining up and 1 hand was swollen. Immediately hooked up to an Antibiotic IV drip, had blood taken. Saw an Orthopaedic surgeon who advised that I needed to be admitted. Thereafter I was sent for X-rays on my swollen hand before being admitted to ward 10C.
From being given tea and a sandwich (hadn’t eaten since 1pm) shortly after admission to being discharged 4 days later I was provided with exemplary care and dignity by the whole team. A special thanks goes to Nurse Feeney whose calm and reassuring manner helped alleviate any concerns I had. You are a star. I left hospital full of admiration for all the staff at the hospital who work so well together for the benefit of patients. I am currently on the waiting list for hip replacement surgery and I would be happy to be a patient in ward 10C.
