"Accessing the community respiratory service"

About: Enhanced Care / Community Respiratory Care

(as a service user),

I’d like to share feedback about accessing the community respiratory service from Southern health and social care trust. It was based ad Cecil Street in Newry. I found it very helpful, I’m in my eighties and I don’t go out much and they take me out. They seemed very nice.

First of all it was good to have a place to go once a week, taking me out and I could go there and do a wee bit of shopping and come home, and the girls were very nice and they were monitoring me to make sure it wasn’t taking too much out of me when I was doing exercises. It’s finished now but it was every Thursday, it was a 6-8 week course. I am very thankful for it, it did help my breathing and they taught me a couple of wee things like how to come overcome the shortness of breath.

Hello

Thankyou so much for your lovely feedback on the recent Pulmonary Rehabilitation program you attended in the N&M area. It is great to hear you benefited from the program and it helped your respiratory condition and also helped you to manage your breathlessness.

Participation in the program and dedication from patients who attend is such an important part- so well done for getting out to the class each week and taking the education sessions on board, we also recognize the social element is so important for our patients and it is really great to have the face to face Pulmonary rehabilitation classes back up and running again post covid.

Thanks Again and best wishes

Anne-Marie Campbell
