"Exceptional care"

About: Radiology / CT Service The Ulster Hospital / MacMillan Unit

(as the patient),

I had a biopsy recently and it went well, I am well pleased.

I was kept informed, taking me step by step through what would happen and what I needed to do. They were very chatty. I was taken in in the morning and the doctor explained everything and made sure I understood the risks of the procedure – very good.

There was a young girl, and she never left my side, I had to have a CT scan (do-nut) and I was a bit cold so she got me extra blankets. She kept checking that I was ok throughout the day.

I was taken back to my ward and told to stay and rest until noon then I was given tea and toast. I have nothing but praise for them all – I was really looked after.

Firstly thank you for taking the time to post about your experience within the SE Trust.

As the Deputy Trust Lead for CT I am very pleased to hear you had a positive experience. It is excellent that you felt well informed not only throughout your procedure but as in the imaging department and were made to feel comfortable throughout scan.

It will be a pleasure to feedback to the CT team your experiences and we continue to encourage patient care and communication in our daily practice.
