I first saw my GP about my back pain and she's discussed my case with Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy, who informed me to come down and stay overnight and admit me for an emergency scan in the morning.
I was initially admitted to the A1 unit and the doctor and nurse were brilliant with me. They were very kind, caring and understanding of my pain. After a few tests it was decided that I needed an MRI scan on my back. The MRI shows that I had problems with my discs I was then moved to Ward 43.
Once again the care that I received in Ward 43 was exceptional. All of the staff from Domestics, nurses and doctors were exceptionally hardworking kind and caring.
After a few days I was moved from this Ward to Ward 6, although it was frustrating it to be moved from one ward to another I have to say that yet again the staff on this word were phenomenal. Exceptionally busy but always me time for me, whether this was to administer pain relief or answer medical questions.
I would like to thank all of the stuff that I encountered as they have changed my opinion of this Hospital. I had previously not had a good experience in the Victoria Hospital a few years ago.
As a result of my most recent experience my opinion has turned around 360. It goes to show that when staff in a hospital are kind. understanding and treat the patient with respect this had a massive impact on me the patient and my recovery and my minder.
Thank you so much for your help, A1, Ward 43 and Ward 6.
