"My father passed away (expected) and I needed certification of death"

About: NHS 111

(as a relative),

I called 111 service in midlands and was told I would get a call back from an out of hours GP to confirm death - unfortunately there was a mix up of out of hours supplier.

Initially I was told I would get call back but after no call I phoned back I recalled the number and as you can imagine I was not in good mood when calling back. I was told it can take up to 6hrs at which I wasn't happy - frustrated I was both aggresive and rude to the call operative to which when I reflect I was in the wrong. But he remained calm and professional and explained he would look into the situation and phone me back

He did this within 10 mins and withinin 20mins the GP had sorted what I needed - I thank him much on staying calm and still helping and being understanding after I had been the way I was -- it was after all a Sunday and without the service I do not know what I would have done.

I remember the call operative name was Ian and would like to extend my thanks to him for sorting the situation and for the call back in person even though I had given him a hard time when it wasn't in any part to do with him for the mix up. With the negative press surrounding the NHS and 111 service at moment I would like to say that without the service I don't know what I would have done.

Many thanks to the midlands service.
