About: Paediatrics / Paediatric Assessment Unit

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter was seen on PAU after experiencing some abdominal pain and bleeding. She was sent for an ultrasound which showed an intussusception. 

The team very quickly flew into action and put a plan in place. Dr Powell explained to me what this meant and what needed to happen, reassuring me throughout. 

A huge thank you to the amazing team that looked after my daughter, and kept me calm during this time - Dr Charlotte, Dr Jane, Nurse Vicky, HCA Michelle and Student nurse Claudyne were among the team treating my daughter and preparing her for a transfer to Bristol Children’s hospital.

The team worked fast, efficiently and were incredibly supportive throughout. Thank you, PAU!

Dear Sophie927,

Gosh what a hugely worrying time for you and your family. I do hope that your daughter is recovering well and will soon be discharged.

I am glad to hear that our Paediatric Assessment Unit (PAU) team were reassuring and acted quickly with support for your daughter and your family throughout your time with us. We are proud of our PAU service and all our colleagues that provide such compassionate care for children and their families.

I shall absolutely ensure that your gratitude and positive feedback is shared with Drs Powell, Charlotte and Jane, our nursing colleagues Vicky, Michelle and Claudyne. Thank you for taking the time to feedback about our paediatric unit and also for remembering everyone's names during such an anxious time for you as a parent.
