"Parent facilities"

About: Royal Hospital for Children and Young People (Edinburgh) / Dalhousie Ward

(as the patient),

We stay regularly in Dalhosie ward.

My daughter can be here each stay from 3 to 11 days at a time.

There are no parent facilities. The price of food is very expensive.

Really for parents especially frequent and long term patients. There has to be a more affordable option for parents.

Dear Maureen2304,

Thank you for posting your comments on Care Opinion. We understand that frequent and longer term stays in hospital can be costly for parents when paying for food. Our prices are set to be as cheap as possible but at the same time ensuring that our service breaks even financially. It was unfortunate that we recently had to put our prices up, this was in response to the inflationary food cost increases and was unavoidable. We do however have a retail catering review group established at the minute to consider issues such as these and we will add your comments to the next discussion.

Kind regards,

Danny Gillan
