"ADHD and Autism Diagnosis and Care"

About: CAMHS (Outpatient Services) / CAMHS Outpatient Team (Angus)

(as a parent/guardian),

My son was awaiting assessment for ADHD and ASD. He was struggling with many aspects of life and it was having a big impact on his mental health and feeling of self worth. His nurse Lisa has been with us since the beginning and has gotten to know my son and our family situation very well and has helped us through so much.

She has always offered support and advice and ensured we knew we can contact her any time. My son struggles to make meaningful relationships due to the nature of his conditions but he loves Lisa and, more importantly, trusts her and feels he can open up to her and tell her anything. Sometimes with a little help from me but he is comfortable with her which speaks volumes! Appointments can be scary anxiety ridden times for people with ADHD and ASD but Lisa makes my son feel at ease and he looks forward to seeing her.

My son and I are both still learning about how best to navigate things and know we will be under CAMHS wing for a long time. With staff like Lisa helping us it is so reassuring!
