"Surprise overnight stay"

I was admitted to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy recently. I was to have a pharyngeal pouch opened.

I thought I was to get home the same day, but when I met with the surgeon,  he told me that they would rather I stayed the night to ensure no complications had arisen from the surgery.

I was admitted to ENT short stay surgical. The nurses were absolutely wonderful.  Very amenable and helpful. All seem happy in their work.

After the surgery and once I had come round from the general anaesthetic,  I was moved to a side room. It was a very pleasant room, with a window affording a lovely breeze, a TV and a shower and bathroom. It was a single occupation room and I felt very comfortable. 

All went well through the night, and on the morning, the smiling nurses were back and I had a lovely good morning from them.

Luckily, the surgery had all gone well with no complications.  The excellent surgeon did a double check and I was set loose back into the world.

I thank all the staff at The Vic! My experience was definitely as good as it could have been.
