"Emergency appendectomy"

About: Antrim Area Hospital / Accidents & Emergency Antrim Area Hospital / Emergency Surgical Unit (EMSU) Antrim Area Hospital / Surgical Elective Unit

(as a service user),

I had quite severe lower abdomen pain and after visiting my GP I went straight to Antrim ED on his recommendation. I was there was about 11am, and by 8pm I was in surgery having my appendix removed. I was admitted to the surgical elective ward following my surgery. I stayed there for 2 nights. The nurses were amazing. So kind, caring and professional. Thanks so much to everyone for the excellent care I received.

Hi Fionl

My name is Helen Davis and I work as An advanced nurse practitioner within the surgical department. Thank you for taking the time to feedback on our service as it helps us to review and adjust to best meet patient needs.

I'm sorry to hear you were unwell and hope you are recovering well at home.

We are very proud of our surgical service in particular how accessible our services are as it speeds up the patients journey to diagnosis and treatment. I'll be sure to pass on this lovely feedback to the entire team.
