"Defensive and not Realistic medicine"

About: New Victoria Hospital / Orthopaedics New Victoria Hospital / Physiotherapy

(as a service user),

I needed a copy of the referral your physio had made to orthopaedics.  It is hugely frustrating and saddening that 5 years after Academy of Medical Royal Colleges and 4 yrs after the Chief Medical Officer recommendations for professionals to “write to the patient”  involved in any correspondence I am still being asked to make a Systems Access Request and enter into a legal conversation to get access to my own information.

This doesn’t build open, trusting therapeutic relationships.

Good afternoon

Thank you for getting touch via Care Opinion. I have spoken to colleagues from the Legal Aspects Team and they have advised that they will accept an email or letter from yourself which includes your name/date of birth/address/CHI Number (if known). They will need 2 forms of identification one being proof of identity (e.g. Passport or driving license) and one to your confirm address (e.g. utility bill or council tax bill).

The postal address is; Health Records Legal Manager, Admin Building Level 2, Gartnavel Royal Hospital, 1055 Great Western Road, Glasgow G12 0XH and the email address is: ggc.legalaspectsnorth@nhs.scot

Kind Regards

Nicole
