"Not happy with podiatry service"

About: Braid Valley Hospital and Ballymena Health and Care Centre / Podiatry

(as the patient),

I am supposed to have neuropathy in my feet and was tested by pinpricks for sensitivity and sent home with a cream to rub on about 4 years ago, but over the last 2 years I have suffered severe pain in 1 big toe nail.

I feel as though all this place has done is cut pieces off my toe nail and sent me home with no change. Now I have had to go into clinic without an appointment to see what can be done.

They now have discovered a corn under nail, but only trimmed it instead of taking it out.  The person I saw said they have worked at podiatry for a long time, but I feel that is unlikely

Dear wilxf83,

Thank you for your feed back. I am disappointed to hear that you feel the treatment you have been receiving by the Podiatry department has been suboptimal. It is a priority for our Podiatrists to always provide the best service to our patients. If you would like to discuss your case further I can offer you the contact number for Stephen McAlister the Manager in that area - 028 256 35502.

Regards

Elaine Davidson

Principle Podiatrist

NHSCT.
