"Excellent bedside manner"

About: University Hospital Ayr / Accident & Emergency

(as a relative),

I recently accompanied my husband to ED at Ayr Hospital following a face and head injury sustained whilst abroad.

The ED was busy on the Sunday evening when we attended following my husband flying back to Scotland from abroad.

The ED consultant who attended to my husband was exceptionally caring. He understood not only my husbands physical injuries but my anxiety regards the potential for a head injury being present.

He spent time giving us reassurances and left us feeling reassured and listened too.

There was no judgmental attitude and only caring and reassurance throughout the time in the department and this meant a lot to us.

I hope that this feedback finds its way to the Male consultant at Ayr ED who saw my husband.

Dear Caring81

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience of the care provided to your husband within the Emergency Department at University Hospital Ayr, following a head injury sustained on holiday.

What a stressful and worrying time that must have been for your both.

In order for me to identify the consultant who cared for your husband so I can pass your lovely feedback to him, I would be most grateful if you could provide me with the date and time you attended. You can leave this information on 01292 513942 (voicemail) or via email at aa.patientexperienceteam@aapct.scot.nhs.uk

In the meantime, it will be my pleasure to forward your kind comments to the wider Team. I know they will be delighted to receive this feedback and it will be really encouraging for them to know that you felt so well supported and reassured during your time with them.

Thank you once again for taking the time to acknowledge your care experience.

Kind Regards

Pamela
