"Very good care and understanding"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / General surgery

(as a service user),

I was admitted to FVRH via GP who sent me to surgical RACU following severe chronic constipation. There was a few issues with doctors changing the plans one doctor would say manual evacuation the other doctor would say NG tube and another would say the complete opposite.

I ended up seeing Mr Wilson who was absolutely fantastic and agreed to give me an enema via Gas and air which actually worked!! This is something any other surgeon refused to do!

The staff on B11 were fantastic and very friendly and supportive. I always have a pleasant experience on B11. The only thing I would like to see changed is doctors to be more aware of patients with autism and how some treatments may not be suitable due to sensory processing issues for example without the gas and air I wouldn’t of been able to have the enema so I thought gas and air was a good compromise. Also for doctors to make a plan and stick to it as changing plans constantly is not good for autistic people like myself.

But overall very good care and understanding by Mr Wilson!

Thank you!!!!!!

Dear yellowfx37,

Thank you for your review of B11. All staff strive to give the best nursing care we can, and I am pleased to hear that you had a good experience whilst an inpatient with us.

May I take this opportunity to wish you well in your recovery.

Best Regards
