A bit late but…I just wanted to take the time to thank the midwifes that were involved in my care during the birth of my son at the beginning of March.
My son decided he wanted to be (very) late, so induction was required. The midwifes at Inverurie got this process going for me. It was great to be able to do this closer to home vs having to travel to Aberdeen for this process. The student midwife Natasha who was at Inverurie asked if she could join me at my birth to follow me on my journey as part of her studies. She was very knowledgeable and reassuring during the induction process and labour. I am sure she will make a fantastic midwife when she graduates!
The night of the induction when at home I was given lots of support over the phone and really appreciated being allowed to head into hospital earlier than what would have been the normal due to awful weather conditions. Once in Aberdeen I was looked after in Labour ward by a lovely midwife called Rachael and the Inverurie student. I felt well looked after during the whole process and welcomed my son into the world feeling like I was in safe hands.
Thank you must also go to the community midwifes at Insch/Inverurie that looked after me before and after the birth.
You midwifes all do an amazing job and I can only but thank you all (and the other professionals we met along the way) for the parts you played in our journey!
"You midwifes all do an amazing job - thank you all"
