"My ongoing healthcare"

About: Rheumatology / Infusion Unit (ward 9)

(as the patient),

I was diagnosed with PBC about 8 years ago and over the years I have been further diagnosed with several autoimmune diseases. I have systemic lupus, sjorgens syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, low platelets, low white blood cells and low immune system.

The quality of care from my GP and my hospital consultant is absolutely 1st Class. As I’m writing this I am in Ward 9/Infusion unit in Altnagelvin Hospital, where I am having a pain infusion for the 1st time.

From the moment I arrived at 8.30 a.m., I have been looked after 100%. The Staff here are amazing, even though it is extremely busy on the ward. I feel that these nurses are extremely overworked and underpaid and yet they keep going for the sake of their patients.

I am in awe of each and every one of them.

Thankyou Teresa 293, for your positive feedback, it always a great incentive for staff and a boost to morale to keep going with the hard work that everyone contributes to the unit in the hope of making it a safe, yet pleasant experience in all our patients treatment journeys. I have passed on your feedback to all our staff.

Thankyou again
