"Simply the best"

About: Causeway Hospital / Accident & Emergency Causeway Hospital / Medical Assessment Unit

(as the patient),

I was admitted via ambulance to the Emergency Department Causeway Hospital Coleraine in June. I was feeling very ill and frightened. The staff in the Emergency Department immediately put me at ease. Rose was so kind reassuring and professional. Two other staff I met during the 12 hours, Eilish and  Georgia, were so good too.

I was given treatment very quickly, blood tests etc. The trollies are comfortable The department was hectic but the care the staff gave was exceptional. I observed so many kind and caring acts even though staff were literally run off their feet.

I stayed there until evening and was transferred to the Medical Assessment Unit. Well this department is EXCEPTIONAL There was so many different staff attending to my medical and physical needs. Claire met me and explained everything to me putting me and my daughter at ease. I cannot. express my admiration for the whole team. The standards were so high and yet it was the bounty of care and kindness to me and to all the others in my ward that was superb. The male staff there did their job so well professionally but kept us all entertained as well with jokes and helped us to relax and get through the day.

The meals were nutritious and so well presented. The choices were great and again if a patient could not cope with what was offered they were happy to send for an alternative. Staff came in each morning and introduced themselves in a really lovely way. I cannot mention everyone individually but want to say you are all SIMPLY THE BEST.
