"Care my mum received following a fall"

About: NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service) Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance START, short term assessment and review service Victoria Hospital / Accident & Emergency Victoria Hospital / Admissions Unit 1 (Emergency Medical)

(as a relative),

Mum was admitted after having fallen in her garden and had lay for quite a while.

After initially declining going to hospital after the Ambulance Crew assessed her, the following day we encouraged her to go.

Every member of staff she met along the way even after her discharge home has been amazing!

From NHS 24, to Malcolm the ANP in A&E who phoned us and advised her to go in, to Dr who attended her in Majors (Sorry, I can’t remember your name!), the porters who took her for X-rays and scans, the staff in AU1, the Rapid Assessment Unit staff and the START team for being so quick in assessing her and arranging for a Package of Care so she was home in 5 days!!

We as a family cannot fault the care she received and continues to do so at home.

Thank you so much.

A special mention to Donna from the START team who has gone above and beyond to ensure mum is getting the care she needs.

Fabulous service!
