"I certainly felt very well looked after"

About: Fife Community Services / Community Cardiac Specialist Service Fife Community Services / District Nursing

(as a service user),

I had two emergency open heart ops. The first was a CBG4 (forth cryoballoon generation) and around 3 weeks later I had to have an emergency debridement for a major mediastinitis infection behind the breastbone.

When I returned home I was initially looked after by the District Nursing Team until the vacuum dressing could be removed.

I then came under the care of nurses from the Community Cardiac Service in Fife. Their work was reminiscent of the days when the NHS actually worked. They came to my house several times and I certainly felt very well looked after.

Dear DavidHyp,

I am delighted to hear about the care you experienced recently from the Community Cardiac and District Nurse teams. It must have been a very difficult time for you after your heart procedures. I am glad you felt well looked after by both teams. I will pass on your kind words as I am sure this will means a lot to them.
