"Rapid care and treatment following diagnosis"

About: Ninewells Hospital / Gastroenterology Ninewells Hospital / Oncology Oncology / Ward 32 (Inpatients)

(as a service user),

Diagnosed Stage 3 Bowel cancer, March 2023 and had surgery within 3 weeks. (Surgery was carried out robotically), now attending for chemotherapy. Care and treatment has been amazing. Prior to treatment and diagnosis, despite being told hospital would be in touch within 2-4 weeks, nothing happened. It took 2and a half / 3 months to have initial consultation (colonoscopy appointment).

From the day of the colonoscopy, care and treatment has been rapid.

All staff from consultants to nursing staff have been very supportive and informative. Not only for myself but also for my wife and family.

Good afternoon marsj33

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. I am happy to hear that your experience in Oncology / ward 32 has been a positive one, and that you have found the oncology consultant and nursing staff to be supportive whilst you were recieving chemotherapy treatment. It is reassuring to hear that you and your family feel well informed.

I will pass on your thanks to to the oncology team
