"Very helpful staff and good quality of care &…"

About: Great Oakley Medical Centre

I was seen today ( and last week) by the nurse specialist for asthma. I have only just decided asthma and have had a terrible three weeks of acute dyspnoea with wheezing, low oxygen saturation levels and coughing constantly.

I have been started on medication and am feeling so much better but the most important thing for me is the reassurance from the nurse and total understanding of asthma. I feel so lucky to have got the support and guidance after three weeks of struggling with 2 A&E visits & having paramedics out to administer nebulisers.

I feel safe again and have a contact in place should I deteriorate again.

I’m being investigated with spirometry & supervised with peak flow recordings.

To suddenly develop an acute asthma attack at the age of 62 is very frightening indeed.

I am so grateful for the expertise of the nurse who is overseeing my care.
