I was referred to the Manor Park Tissue Viability Service after sustaining an injury to my left ankle during a street running session.
Admittedly, it as about 3 weeks before I sought help from the doctor, but only because the wound was not healing as quickly as I thought it should. In fact it seemed to be getting worse.
When I arrive at the Clinic I was seen by Felicia. She enquired about my history and pointed out that I seem to have varicose veins, which was likely contributing to the slowness of the healing. After examination and blood pressure tests (of arms and legs) the wound was dressed and I was given advice on next steps.
Felicia was friendly, very re-assuring and professional; and I did not, at anytime, feel like I was not being listened to or ‘fobbed off’ (which has, unfortunately, been my typical experience when visiting a GP for other ailments).
