"Physiotherapy assessment service"

About: Braid Valley Hospital and Ballymena Health and Care Centre / Orthopaedic Assessment Service

(as a service user),

Due to my history of diabetes type 1 for 40 years I  experience trigger finger and this impacts my functional activities and day to day living.

I have been seen, on both occasions, by highly specialised and experienced physiotherapists in relation to the treatment of this condition -a steroid injection.

Both pysiotherapists provided excellent advice , reassurance and aftercare due to the steroids impact on blood sugar management.

I felt so at ease and confident in their administration of the injection.

I also was seen on both occasions promptly and was pleasantly surprised on my second occasion (post pandemic) where by I had my x-ray of my hand completed in December 2022 and recieved my injection in June 2023.

I have also recieved a second appointment for July to receive a steroid injection in my other hand which is excellent!!!

I have the upmost respect for these physiotherapists and their very high standard of service delivery and treatment.

The rest is down to me to get using my hands for my simple day to day activities that had become so troublesome and sore.

Thank you!

Delilah, thanks so much for taking the time to post a story on Care Opinion. I'm glad you had a positive experience receiving treatment for your trigger finger in OAS. I appreciate all feedback we receive.

Claire
