Anything else?
my partner was taken to a&e in the early hours on the 8th of august we was seen straight away we was put into a room which looked to be having work done to it.There was no bed in the room i had to ask for one, at this point my partner was in agony. A nurse came in to put a needle into my partners arm to give him some morphine, this probaly took a matter of 10 minutes.we were in a&e for 4 hours and nobody came in to see if my partner was ok. There seemed to be a lot of staff standing round talking and sitting down drinking coffee. The only few postive things were the lovely xray staff and the two porters and a lovely staff nurse who walked down to the ward with us, she was lovely. My partner was in agony so i went to ask a nurse if he could have morphine, 15 minutes later we was still waiting. I then went to two other members of staff and my partner still didnt get he morphine. Finally after an hour he got given it by a lovely lady. She acted straight away, this shouldnt have taken an hour. There was no buzzer in the room from what we could see. How were you meant to ask for help especially if you were in the room by yourself? Its a good job my partner had me there. He was then taken down to S.E.A.U ward that was shocking too. He was sent down to the ward to be told there were no beds, there was a bed crisis and he had to wait in a admissions room until a bed became available. After sitting in there for over an hour he finally got a bed, alot of the staff were very very rude. They never said hello or goodbye and how they spoke to patients were horrible. I witnessed a staff nurse say to a old man that she wasn't impressed with him because he was struggling to sit up in bed. I wish I had looked at her name badge and reported her. There were patients on the ward including my partner who didnt even know were the shower was. My partner had to ask the house keeper for some toast because he was in the shower and missed his breakfast. he also missed his dinner because at these point he had gone down for an mri scan this really concern me what if this had happen to somebody who was a little confused and couldnt let anyone no they hadnt had anything to eat? .We were sat 5 hours waiting to be discharged what a joke yesterday on the ward my partner had a lovely nurse who looked after him, she was amazing at her job there was only a lovely house keeper on the ward to apart from these to the staff were shocking.I would never want any of my family on the S.E.A.U ward ever again and even a&e for that matter.I will be taking this further because im hoping the more people that speak somebody one day will listen.I did witness two member of nursing staff to be good but they alway seemed to be working on the opposites bays to were my partner was. We walked passed the nurses station to go home the only two members of staff that said goodbye was the two members i mentioned.
