The lady physiotherapist attended my mothers home to investigate knee pain resulting from a fall. My mother is suffering from dementia which makes determining past incidents difficult by questioning her.
The extent of the injury was quickly and professionally made, whilst communicating with my mother all of the time at a level she could understand and engage with. I was communicated with at a level I could understand, with clear information which later allowed me to make well informed decisions on my mother’s behalf.
All of my questions were answered and many avenues explored to relieve my mothers discomfort as best as possible in the near and long term.
Throughout the whole visit the physio radiated enthusiasm, confidence and positivity. Judging by the occasional smile and my mother’s willingness to interact with the physio I believe my mother enjoyed the experience.
I appreciate that NHS professionals are not there to entertain their patients but I have no problem if they do.
Upon leaving my mothers home the physio offered to get back to me with details of some equipment and how it may be accessible through another service provider.
Within two hours I had received a text and a phone call from the physio with the information I required and an additional idea of help for my mother that had popped into her head after leaving my mothers home.
A committed and dedicated individual. A credit to the NHS.
I am fully aware that there are many like her in the NHS.
Thank you for being good at your job and staying positive.
