"I felt I had top-rate care throughout"

I had the misfortune to have needed to go to Medway Hospital accident and emergency after I had a fall on ice and suspected I hurt my arm.

From arriving at the department I was quickly seen by the triage nurse and remained friendly and professional, despite finding it hard to fully examine my arm due to severe pain. She then sent me to have x ray and it came back I did have a broken arm, she then explained everything and even showed me x ray photo of the fracture and then had to try to put my arm in cast. This was done whilst giving me some kind of gas to breathe in and this was done with minimal discomfort.

I then had to spend a few more hours in the department having more x rays and even seeing the fracture doctor. I was then administered some morphine and given strong painkillers and sent home. On my visit all the staff were friendly, despite the busy department and I felt I had top-rate care throughout, with everyone explaining everything in detail and they all listened to me very well.  Top marks to everyone who works in the accident and emergency department.
