"Put me at ease and showed genuine empathy"

About: New Stobhill Hospital / Gynaecology Clinic NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde

(as a service user),

I was really anxious about my appointment as I wasn't sure what to expect. Dr Victoria instantly put me at ease, showing genuine empathy for my concerns and talking me through her thoughts and what she was going to do.

During the exam, both the doctor and nurse (I believe it was Karen) made the environment as comfortable as possible, making friendly conversation and helping to take my mind off everything.

Dr Victoria took time to explain what she had found and reassure me.

Not enough medical professionals understand how daunting a gynae appointment is but this experience really gave me hope that women will get the care, compassion and respect they deserve in an otherwise daunting situation.
