"Positive experience in gynaecology"

Got told I had a sudden gynae appt at Stobhill, I’d forgotten I’d ever been referred as it was a long while ago. Got 24 hours notice of the appointment. 

I’m currently dealing with reporting a historical sexual assault to the police, have an extensive history of trauma related to gynae and urology care, and find gynae appointments absolutely terrifying to the point of tears, vomiting and fainting. 

By the time my appointment came round the next day I’d worked myself up into an absolute state. 

Stobhill were absolutely wonderful. The ladies on the ground floor took me to my appointment, ensured they told the clinic staff, who whisked me straight through to a separate room immediately, listened and believed me. Everything was done at my pace with my consent. That hasn’t always been the case before. I wasn’t left alone at all, I had a nurse with me throughout the entire appointment, given a cup of tea and biscuits; and helped into a taxi after. 

I have had positive experiences before with My Body Back but kind of expected that from them, as they’re very specially trained to support survivors. 

I’ve been seeing gynae since I was 16, I’m now in my thirties; I’ve never had such a positive experience in a ‘normal’ gynae clinic - previous experiences have been mostly horrendous - but I know if I had to go back to Stobhill for further tests I know I’d feel 100% safe doing so which absolutely says it all.
