"My hysterectomy"

About: Liverpool Womens Hospital / Gynaecology

(as a service user),

Had full hysterectomy August last year never had a follow up appointment.  I was sent home with catheter and had to keep ringing the hospital weekly because no-one knew I had it which resulted in me having an infection that went on to my skin on inner thighs . I was admitted as it was so bad then discharged with catheter and again no one knew I had it.  Then the letter came in the post stating I was discharged without a catheter.

I rang them again to be told come in Saturday morning - I got there and no-one knew anything about me.  I still haven't had a follow up appointment.

I am now just a shell. My life has changed.  I have been  told it is the  consultant's responsibility for me to have  HRT.   I'm a completely a different person.  I've suffered back pain to point it affects  my mobility.  I have gained so much weight and find myself utterly disgusting.  I won't sleep in same bed as my husband as I feel so embarrassed by my weight.

If it weren't for my beautiful family and brilliant husband I wouldn't be here -  each day is a struggle

After pouring my heart out in an email to pals all they could manage to give me is a phone consultation with my consultant and not even an apology plus an email that was sent to me in error.
