"Amazing care"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Initial Assessment Unit Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Same Day Urgent Care Centre (SDUCC)

(as the patient),

I was recently transferred from Gartnaval to the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Glasgow and the care I was given was absolutely amazing. Not a bad word to say about my experience.

I was due for my very first lumbar puncture and to say I was scared was an understatement. The whole process of me getting diagnosed was quick and easy. I was not left about for long periods of time which I really appreciated.

I would like to thank Nurse AnnaLisa from Ambulatory care Surgical IAU in QUEH who was amazing with me since I stepped foot into the unit. She made me feel less anxious about what the day was going to bring for me.

I would also like to thank Doctor Thomas from the same unit, surgical IAU, who was so understanding and patient with me. She made me feel at ease throughout my whole appointment. She also made me feel so relaxed during the lumbar puncture procedure she did on me. She also gave me my very first cannula and it wasn’t painful at all like I thought it would be!

Safe to say I had a lot of firsts this day!

She is how a doctor should be and I was so relieved that she was overlooking my care. She is one of the most kind hearted and knowledgeable doctors I have ever met. She didn’t beat around the bush and told me everything how it was. Thank you doctor for making my experience a good once despite the fact I had an LP:

I have nothing but praise for all the staff in this unit. Thank you once again for all the care and support. I really appreciate it.
