"I was very impressed by the ENP service."

About: Antrim Area Hospital / Accidents & Emergency Causeway Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a service user),

I broke my wrist in March and was seen in Causeway Hospital by the ENP, Kiera, who was very professional and the process was quick and easy. All the staff were excellent and efficient at their roles. My son then needed to be seen in Antrim and again, we were fortunate enough to be allocated to the ENPs were Claire took care of us. Again, the process was very efficient and we were very well looked after.

I was very impressed by the ENP service.

My one concern was that in Antrim, we did not have a private area were we were assessed. The nurse practitioners work extremely well under the conditions however as far as patient confidentiality is concerned, I don’t think the facilities they have been provided with are appropriate for the essential role that the ENPs carry out.

Thank you so much Kiera and Claire and all the team.

Hi Sinjs63

apologies for the delay in coming back to you. A reset of the Emergency Department is due to take place within the next few weeks. The ENP service was temporarily moved during COVID 19 to increase our isolation rooms to receive patients. with reducing numbers of COVID 19 we intend on the ENP service relocating back to their original space.

thank you for your feedback and I hope this addresses your concerns as this was also a concern of ours

Mark
