"A very positive experience."

My teenage son recently fractured his wrist and attended Daisy Hill Emergency Department. I want to convey the great experience we had here on both occasions we had to attend over the last 2 weeks. 

Dr McCammon examined him both times and put him straight at ease, whilst explaining everything to him which made him feel more relaxed. Dr McCammon talked him through his X ray and really took the time to deal with him even though, on both occasions the department was very busy.

He was then seen by Advanced Nurse Practitioner Deirdre and Health Care Assistant Josie. Both girls were brilliant with him as he is very shy and quiet and they both put him at great ease with their humour and chat which made such a difference. Again, this was when the department was busy and we did not feel rushed at all.

On both visits which included the Emergency Department and the Minor Injury Unit, I witnessed the staff doing an incredible job for their patients despite difficult circumstances. All staff were friendly, caring professional and efficient and this deserves to be recognized. We are lucky to have 2 amazing services like this in our hospital.
