"Lack of dignity by staff"

About: Borders General Hospital / Accident & Emergency Borders General Hospital / Radiology

(as the patient),

I was admitted to A&E with severe abdominal pain. The surgeons referred me for an ultrasound scan and the radiologist refused to scan me that night because of the backlog of elective patients. I was advised to come in the following day for the scan.

I was discharged from A&E with a plan and analgesia. I ended up being admitted to A&E at half 4 the following morning due to pain.

When I was finally sent for the ultrasound scan, the scan consisted of 2 parts, an abdominal scan and an internal vaginal scan. When it came to the internal scan, I was asked to undress and lie half naked under the sheet and wait on the radiographer.

When the radiographer came back they kept saying that they just need to check something and left the room 3/4 times, while I was lying half naked waiting on this scan. It was extremely undignified.
