"1st Appointment"

Attended outpatients for my neurology appointment and was kept waiting for 40mins before being seen.  When I was called through the consultant was apologetic and explained what had happened.  They also helped put me at ease and explained what would happen at the appointment today.  The consultant took a history from me to get to know me better and performed an examination.  The consultant then took time to explain the basics of the central nervous system to me and how my examination and previous MRI scan fits into it. The appointment ended with a clear explanation of next steps, estimated timescale and what I should be looking out for.  A very reassuring appointment.
