"Fantastic care and really good staff, thanks to you all."

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Accident & emergency Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I arrived at a&e early hours of Monday morning after being told to attend by 111. It was very busy and the wait was 7 hours. I was seen by triage within 15 minutes, the nurses were really lovely they phoned gynae immediately and I was transferred straight through to a bay.  The nurses immediately put lines in, took blood and administered medication IV while waiting on gynae.

Although I had a long wait as all the gynae team were busy in theatre the nurses constantly checked in on me and made sure I was comfortable and well looked after. I was transferred to ward 6 around 6am to see the gynae team. I was welcomed onto the ward and there was a long wait to see the consultant but I was given a cup of tea and biscuits.

Doctor was brilliant and when the consultant arrived she apologised for the wait but again she was great. The level of care and compassion received was second to none and I would like to thank everyone involved in my care from admission to discharge on Monday. They are all working under extreme pressure and despite being very busy and short staffed still make time to actually care and listen to you. Fantastic care and really good staff, thanks to you all.

Dear Maz01

Thank you for taking the time to post your experience on Care Opinion. It is lovely to read that the care you received was so positive, as I know attending hospital can be quite daunting.

The staff really do a fantastic job on a daily basis, and I will ensure they are made aware how the care and compassion they provide makes such a difference to patient experience.

I hope you are recovering well and I wish you all the very best

Kirsty MacInnes

Department Manager/Senior Midwife
