Last time I contacted this practice, around a year ago, with a swollen & very painful lower jaw I was told by the Receptionist/Phone answerer that I needed to check a Dentist. I was not registered with any Dentist at the time & I could not find a NHS Dentist (as opposed to a private Dentist, which I cannot afford) to do anything for me. I had to remove two teeth myself to deal with it. The Receptionist/whatever seems to be able to decide such things on a simple phone call... I consider this to be an outrage. I was contacted later by phone by the 'Practice Manager' who insisted on talking over me on the call. Was not in listening mode...
Today I am suffering from Gout & cannot even walk after a week of pain.. I call the Practice number for an appointment. I'm told that a Doctor will call me later today, only after I insist it is an 'Emergency'. You can imagine how much confidence I have in that, after my previous experiences. I'm 76 in poor health & this is how it works for me. I have no appointment currently @ 17:00 hrs & have to wait. Or call 999/111. That's how the NHS works for me right now.
