"My stay on Ward 37"

About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital / Cardiothoracic surgery

(as the patient),

I found this page and was somewhat shocked by the critical feedback, both to the ward/staff and the hospital in general.

I have been here for four weeks and I must say that I have been treated with the utmost care and respect from every single member of staff associated with my care. In fact, I think it would be unfair to single out any one individual. They are all so professional, caring and helpful and are a credit to their profession.

The ward itself seems to run like clockwork, very efficient and professional. Meal times are generally on time every day and the choice and quality of food is excellent, fresh and wholesome, not processed. The housekeeper is around several times a day with hot beverages and biscuits if required. The cleaning staff are round every day, all day, cleaning, wiping down and mopping to keep the bays perfectly clean. The bathroom facilities are more than adequate and cater for all levels of mobility, washing and showering at any time of day as you desire. My bed was was made or changed on a daily basis and I personally slept fine, (if not for my preferred eight hours). I have no complaints.

In my opinion, hospital wards are not hotels and should not be considered as such. I wanted to convey my feelings and thoughts about my experiences in ward 37, for the record.

Thank you all.
