"We always receive the best care."

About: The Ulster Hospital / Maynard Sinclair (Paediatrics)

(as a service user),

My child has been admitted to Maynard ward a few times we always receive the best care.

We are always treated with kindness between the nurse, doctors and the nursing auxiliaries. Nothing is ever too much and they always go above and beyond, despite the nurses and auxiliaries being under immense pressure!

However one thing that would make life so much easier for parents is facilities for parents to make tea and coffee and heat up food as I always feel really bad asking staff to do these tasks knowing they are obviously really busy.

Also, better sleeping arrangements for parents as a few times that I have been in I have seen parents having to sleep on the floor beside their child’s cot often for more that one night which staff obviously try and make as comfortable as they possibly can for parents.

Dear Parhe95

Thank you for sharing the story of your child and your family's experience at Maynard Sinclair Ward.

It is great to hear that you feel that staff performance has been of high quality in looking after your child.

I take on board your points re: food preparation and accommodating parents' sleeping needs.

I have raised these points for service leadership consideration and response.

Upon receipt of advice, I will post further to update you.

I hope that your child keeps safe and well.

Best wishes

Conor
