I wanted to write this as a deep and heartfelt thank you to you all for the care, support & kindness shown to me during my recent admission to the unit. The fact that I was treated as a human being, listened to, and empathized with me, means such a lot to me.
While I had quite a severe relapse that led me to being admitted, I have spent almost the last five years completely sober and while I was devastated to relapse, I also realise that relapse is sometimes part of recovery and feel that so long as I can learn from this experience I will continue on the right track.
I put a lot of people through much anguish and worry during this relapse and used up precious NHS resources as a result. But even when I first arrived the staff could see that I was in a terrible state mentally & physically and treated me with genuine respect & care. I cannot say how much I appreciate this treatment, and I will always be grateful. I think it’s important to give credit where it’s due, and while it’s frustrating that I don’t know the staff names, each and every one of them deserve my thanks for treating me with such decency.
All the very best for 2023 and beyond,

So just to reiterate, thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the NHS staff who came to my aid in my hour of need. You made a difference in my life, and I’ll be forever grateful. I’m not sure if it’s possible for you to thank everyone personally but if not that’s okay and just know I’m grateful to you all.
