Anything else?
I was referred to the clinic in April 2012 as an urgent case. I saw a doctor in August 2012. Whilst reasonably satisfied with the care I received, several referrals to other departments later, I feel angry and upset at my latest appointment. I received a phonecall 3 weeks ago asking me to attend IBD clinic for a review. At least on my previous 2 appointments the doctor introduced herself! The uncaring, disinterested and discourteous Dr I saw on 29th August didn't even look at me, let alone introduce himself. This man flicked through case notes on the computer screen, yawned, didn't answer any questions and said there was no need for any further appointments. I informed him that I had been referred to another doctor for further treatment and he said that this wouldn't be effective in treating my symptoms. I hadn't requested this appointment, took a day off work to attend the non-existent review and left feeling furious and disrespected. I have never complained before, but the NHS is in the sorry state it is because we tolerate such poor and unprofessional treatment, from arrogant people who clearly wish to be elsewhere.
