"The care I received was absolutely excellent"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Acute Medical Receiving Unit University Hospital Monklands / Emergency Department University Hospital Monklands / Medical Assessment Unit University Hospital Monklands / Medical Diabetes and Endocrinology (Ward 12)

(as a service user),

I was admitted to Monklands University Hospital in Airdrie, Scotland with a new diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes unfortunately.

The care I received from the doctors & nurses in A&E, MAU and AMRU then ward 12 was absolutely excellent . Subsequently the care I have and am still receiving from the entire Diabetic Team from the David Matthews Centre has been outstanding, making me feel very supported with this new & life changing condition.

I would particularly like recognise and thank Lynn, the senior dietitian, and consultant Dr Devers for their professionalism, encouragement and support. As an NHS Scotland nurse myself, I am truly grateful. Thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your time spent as an inpatient at University Hospital Monklands. I will make sure your really positive comments are fed back to the various teams, and in particular Lynn and Dr Devers. I hope that you are continuing to feel better, and I am glad that you are continuing to be reassured in terms of your care.
