"A bilateral hernia saga"

About: Darent Valley Hospital / General surgery Darent Valley Hospital / Urology

(as a relative),

A year ago I was in agony I was told I had a hernia that my testicles had gone into. I was told I needed surgery as an emergency and I needed a general surgeon and a urology surgeon to operate at the same time. I was admitted into hospital shortly after for my operation to be told sorry there is only one surgeon you need two. The one from urology was missing.

Since then, my life has been hell. The pain I have been in just doing the smallest of things. Repeatedly I've been told its an emergency yet they have left me in this hell on earth. It's made me suicidal at times.

Then at last a year later I finally get the call to go for my operation. The relief was unreal. Then along comes the general surgeon to say sorry cant do it we need a urology surgeon to be here at the same time.
