"Armthorpe Receptionist Extremely Unhelpful"

If you decide to move to this practice I would strongly advice against ringing the Armthorpe Surgery. I required some medication urgently (I have a serious medical condition) that was previously prescribed by my consultant who advised me to contact my GP for repeat prescriptions. I decided to call the Armthorpe telephone number instead of Auckley for a change as I always struggle to get through which I will never do again. The person I spoke to was very abrupt and kept interrupting me whilst I was attempting to explain that, when this has happened previously, the office staff have looked up the letter from my consultant advising that I need this medication and passed a note to the GP who then sent the prescription through without the need for an appointment. The person I spoke to said that I would need an appointment or call back from a GP and the next available call back was on the 19th May which was obviously unacceptable! I tried to explain again and was again abruptly cut off (please feel free to find the recording of this conversation as evidence!) and told I would need to ring at 8 each morning until I could get an appointment. As I was working the following 2 days (and travelling to work on the motorway at 8am) I couldn't call until this morning. I rang the Auckley surgery today and received their usual helpful response that they would show the GP my letter and I was unlikely to need a call back or appointment (thank you!). Never contacting the Armthorpe branch again - when you are suffering from a medical condition the last thing you need is additional stress! Again - thank you Auckley reception!
