About: Paediatrics / Paediatric Assessment Unit

(as a service user),

My daughter was admitted to PAU with increased effort breathing. We’ve been in before for the same thing over the last year, so the children’s unit is a familiar place and we felt confident in the staff.

The nurses Emma & Sara were very kind and made my daughter feel at ease. They were as helpful as they possibly could be and considering it was the end of their shift and no doubt a long day, I thought they were brilliant. We were seen to quickly and assessed in good time by the doctors, who were lovely and explained everything well.

I’m Dr Holly and I help respond to the feedback given by patients and their families during their stay with us.

Thank you so much for giving your time in sharing your experiences of the paediatric assessment unit (PAU). I am very pleased your experience has made you feel confident that you and your daughter are in safe hands when you need a hospital admission with us. Emma, Sara, the PAU team and all staff members of the Children’s unit work so hard to achieve timely and supportive care for their patients and families. We know it makes such a difference for you as a family, especially so when you need frequent stays with us. I hope your daughter has made a full recovery from her illness.

I will personally pass your feedback on to Emma and Sara. They will be so pleased and thank you for kindly acknowledging their hard work – they are such highly valued members of our team for their continual commitment and dedication to ensure their patients and families are well cared for. I will also share with the PAU team and all of the Children’s unit. Your lovely feedback will be warmly received and greatly appreciated!
