"Wait Times"

About: Crawley Hospital / Urgent treatment centre

(as the patient),

Over the years I have had many a trip to the walk in centre in Crawley with the wait times averaging between 2-4 hours to be seen.

I appreciate that the walk in centre is just that and cannot be managed and staffed to historical footfall, but I feel that something needs to be done.

I think it is ridiculous that the walk in centre caters for such a vast area.

I believe the system is stretched to capacity and there is no give.

Most cases are where the patients are unable to get doctors appointments so therefore end up in the walk in centre when really a simple trip to the GP would suffice.

As I am sat here now writing this, I have yet to be seen by a nurse for triage and I am 2.5 hours in.

I am one such patient who I believe if there were more doctor’s appointments were available I wouldn’t be clogging up an already bursting system.
