"Neurology services Altnagelvin"

I was referred to Neurology Team in 2022. It was a  referral from GP.  

I found the Neurology service excellent.   

On my first review I was seen by DR Donaghy Consultant Neurologist, I was happy with this  as I was worried about the symptoms I had  and as yet had never really had an opportunity to speak to a Doctor about what was happening to me. 

I had a very thorough review and onward Tests  arranged. I  did not have too long to wait for tests and then I was seen again by DR Donaghy.   I was nervous but I was given very good  explanations about results and given choices about further tests.     I felt involved in my care  and was not being pushed into having procedures  carried out that I may not be keen on.  

I was unsure of some things when leaving the Doctors office  but I was welcomed to contact the Doctor via her secretary should I have any worries.   I did actually  do this and again the service I received was excellent. 

During this time I was seen by DR Mary Mc Cullagh  and Nurse Jackie  who looked after me very well during my Lumbar Puncture. These two professionals are exceptional  and I am  sure DR Donaghy  is aware of the great asset they are to her Team. 

The timely manner in which I received my results was impressive, and thank goodness my news was good. I was always worried about being a burden to this service  who look after people who have devastating and life changing diagnosis. I  was never made feel like this, I was taken seriously examined well and even as I  continue to improve  I have been welcomed and encouraged to contact DR Donaghy  should I have any further symptoms. This has left me feeling very confident that should I ever need it, I will be seen by an expert  and very caring Team.
