I thought I would give some feedback about one of my ongoing Recovery tools ACT and share how positive my learning journey with ACT has been and is still very active in my journey
This is an online Women's weekly group run by Inclusion Recovery Hampshire for their clients. I was referred to this group by my then key worker at the Basingstoke hub following a discussion about the group with him soon after I became his client.
I have never looked backed since joining this group. The facilitator Emma is outstanding and has incredible knowledge and has fantastic people's skills in facilitating the group and teaching ACT to the group.
ACT is a form of behavioural therapy that uses various mindfulness strategies to help us accept the difficulties in life. It teaches us to develop a mindful relationship with them promoting psychological flexibility that encourages healthy contact with thoughts, reconnection with the here and now.
It a realisation of personal values and commitment to behaviour change.
ACT has helped me to enhance health, wellbeing, reduce stress, improve performance and, very much in my case increase resilience.
ACT has given me the tools and and strategies I need to break bad habits, overcome procrastination more, motivate myself to start and maintain new behaviours and build better relationships with the people in my live.
Just to finish on the Acronym I have learnt that encapsulates the entire model of ACT is:
Accepting your thoughts and feelings and be presentChoose a valued direction
Take Action
A big thank you to Emma at Inclusion Recovery Hampshire -The ACTs group facilitator and recovery worker and Stuart the recovery worker who introduced me to the Women's ACT Group and recommended I join up.
I do hope you have found this feedback useful and helpful and has given you encouragement to join our group via your keyworker's referral at your local hub.
Stay Safe!
